Ark Animal Centre was founded in 2011.

Fueled by an incredible passion for animals and a commitment to combat the cruelty they face in South Africa. We proudly emerged as one of the leading rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming centers in Johannesburg, making a lasting impact on our community and the countless beautiful souls that walked through our doors. Ark created a vibrant, welcoming environment for pet owners and a loving, safe haven for thousands of animals in need!

We expanded our mission in 2013 by launching the Ark veterinary clinic, tirelessly working to heal the injured and provide vital care to the unwanted.

Challenges were faced during the 2020 pandemic affecting our operations and therefore the closure of our rehoming division.

Ark continues to provide vital care on a small scale to the animals in surrounding communities. We will always be a sanctuary for animals, which leads us to the next chapter, where we continue to offer unparalleled passion and expert care in our dog boarding division. 

We look forward to seeing what future chapters are in store and are forever grateful for the incredible chapters we've already written.
